Natural and lasting heat and cold. Super flexible.

The application of heat or cold is the perfect natural way to relieve some of the discomfort that may appear during childbirth, postpartum or breastfeeding. Natural clay, unlike those used for hot and cold pieces, offers a long-lasting and gradual temperature. What can we use it for?

🧊 Cool mode 🧊

  • Leave the pad in the freezer for at least 1 hour, inside a sealed storage bag to ensure that it is clean.
  • When you want to use it, check that the temperature is correct.

🔥 Heat mode 🔥

  • Place the pad without the cotton cover and covered with a damp kitchen paper in the microwave for 25 seconds at 800W. Better to use a microwave-safe plate and put it on top without touching the sides.
  • Check if the temperature is the desired one and if not repeat in times of 5 seconds
  • Distribute the content of the pad before using it.

🧊 Cold to relieve postpartum perineal pain

Discomfort in the perineal area is very common during the postpartum period. The area is swollen, tender and sore, and the local application of cold can help a lot by reducing pain. How do we use it?

  • Wash your hands with water and soap.
  • Place the pad in your postpartum panties, on top of the compress and cover it with sterile gauze so that it does not come into direct contact with the perineal area.
  • Let it act for 10 minutes.
  • You can repeat it every 2 hours, always using new sterile gauze.

🧊 Cold to relieve the discomfort of hemorrhoids

Hormonal changes during pregnancy and postpartum often bring constipation and hemorrhoids as a gift. A specific diet, the correct amount of water intake and a proper position when going to the bathroom are the 3 keys to correct them. But if the dreaded hemorrhoids arrive, what can we do?

  • Wash your hands with water and soap.
  • Place the pad in its organic cotton cover (if there are open wounds, replace it with sterile gauze) and place it inside the panties in the anal area.
  • Let it act for 10 minutes.
  • You can repeat the process every 2 hours.

🔥 Heat to relieve breast congestion BEFORE feedings

Along with chest massage, the application of heat is one of the best ways to relieve pain before feeding. Heat should only be applied before feeding and only for 2 minutes, otherwise it could cause infections due to bacterial growth

  • First massage your chest to make it softer (you can do it with our lactation massager )
  • When you want to use it, check that the temperature is correct.
  • Wash your hands with water and soap.
  • Place the pad in its organic cotton cover and place it on the breast without touching the nipple area.
  • Remember to use it only 2 minutes just before taking it.

🧊 Cold to relieve breast congestion AFTER feedings

The application of cold is perfect to relieve pain and inflammation after feedings if there is mammary engorgement or blockage of mammary ducts.

  • Wash your hands with water and soap.
  • Place the pad in its organic cotton cover and apply it to the breast without touching the nipple area.
  • Apply cold for 10 minutes
🔥 Heat to relieve the pain of injuries

The application of heat for 20 minutes is ideal for relieving the pain of injuries. Do not use it for more than 20 minutes and always with the organic cotton cover so that the pad does not come into direct contact with the skin.

    1. What is the purpose of the clay cold/hot pad during postpartum recovery?
Cold therapy helps reduce swelling and relieve pain in the perineal area after childbirth.

    2. Can I use the pad in direct contact with the skin?
No, direct skin contact is not recommended. In case of open wounds in the perineal area, it’s best to use sterile gauze to avoid infections. For other applications, such as on the belly or breasts, it’s always recommended to use the included cotton cover for extra comfort and safety.

    3. How do I prepare the pad for cold use?
Place the pad in the fridge for at least 1 hour, inside a closed storage bag to keep it clean. Before using, check that the temperature is comfortable. We do not recommend freezing it as it may damage the seals.

    4. How do I heat the pad correctly?
Remove the cotton cover and cover the pad with a damp paper towel. Place it in the microwave for 20 seconds at 800 W, preferably on a microwave-safe plate, without touching the sides. If the temperature is not high enough, repeat in 5-second intervals.

    5. How often can I use the pad on the perineal area?
You can apply it for 10 minutes every 2 hours, always using fresh sterile gauze for each application.

    6. How does the pad help relieve hemorrhoids?
Cold therapy applied to the anal area can help reduce swelling and pain associated with hemorrhoids. Place the cold pad, covered with gauze, directly on the affected area for 10 minutes every 2 hours.

    7. When should I apply heat to my breasts while breastfeeding?
Heat can be applied before breastfeeding to relieve engorgement, but only for a maximum of 2 minutes, as prolonged exposure could encourage bacterial growth.

    8. Is the clay pad reusable?
Yes, the pad is designed to be reusable. Make sure to clean it properly after each use and check for any damage before reusing.

    9. How do I clean the pad after use?
Clean the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap. Ensure it is completely dry before storing or reusing it.

    10. Can I use the pad during pregnancy?
Before using the pad on your belly during pregnancy, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional. You can use it cold to relieve hemorrhoids or varicose vulvar pain.

    11. Why is the clay pad better than others with traditional fillings?
Clay has a superior ability to retain and distribute both cold and heat evenly and for longer periods compared to other materials like gel or seeds. Unlike gel, which can lose effectiveness or break, clay is a natural, durable material. Additionally, it doesn’t become overly hard when frozen, and it heats up evenly in the microwave, making it safer and more comfortable to use during postpartum recovery and breastfeeding.

    12. Can the pad be used to help turn the baby in the womb?
Yes, some moms use cold and heat therapy to encourage the baby to move when it’s in a non-optimal position (such as breech presentation). The technique involves applying heat to the lower abdomen and cold to the upper part, which may encourage the baby to move toward the warmth. However, it’s important to consult with a midwife or healthcare professional before attempting this.
